About us
Traceylee GaoneHi! My name is Tracey, and I am the face amongst the dahlia patch. My favorite place to be is in the garden, ignoring the pests and praying God blesses our efforts.
If you know about passion, you know it ignites with just one spark. Well, I had moved on from my previous passion and was in search of a constructive way to use my time and boundless energy. I have always loved veggie gardening, and growing something delicious from just a seed was so rewarding. At our most recent home, I planted a few flower bulbs, corms, and tubers to beautify our yard. When the dahlias bloomed, I was instantly hooked.
They say dahlias are hard to grow, and they may be right. The sun, the soil, the water, the viruses, bacterial infections, and the pests. Oh goodness, the pests. But what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right? We can do hard things. So of course, I set off on this new adventure. Just a couple dahlias should get me going. But this one is pretty, oooh, and this one!
A couple hundred plants in the ground later, and they are all just about ready to bloom, organized by color, a fantastic display of creation shimmering across the front lawn in the morning light. It's such a beautiful sight, and it's a sight I cannot wait to share.
If you're local to southwest Ohio, that means buckets of blooms, ready each week for your dining room table, sunroom, homeschool teacher desk, or bureau. It means a stronger sense of community as you bring a fresh bouquet to visit with a neighbor, to see a friend for coffee, or to comfort a loved one in the hospital.
If you have found us from afar, welcome! I would love for you to share these blooms with those around you as well, and that is why we will be selling tubers each spring. I hope you will plant them in your gardens, enjoy nurturing them along with yourselves, and cultivate peace and kindness as you share them with others.
The world is hard. And life is hard. It's full of death, sickness, loss, betrayal, devastation, and sorrow. But one day, if we're ready, we will trade beauty for ashes, joy for mourning, praise for a heavy spirit, and the cares of this world will be gone. I can't wait for that day. Until then, I will offer some beauty today to soften some of the sorrows of this world. Yesterday's, today's, and tomorrow's. I hope you join me.
Love,
Tracey
